Chale Wote – Spirit Robot

A ocean of colors in the streets of Jamestown. The sixth edition of the public “Chale Wote Street Art Festival” in Accra, Ghana, took place from August 15-21, 2016 and was themed “Spirit Robot”. The festival serves as a platform for art, dance, performance, music, film and fashion. More than 200 Ghanaian and international artists presented their works in 2016. The supporting programme included exhibitions, art performances and street art as well as short-film screenings and live music.

The focus of the exhibition is on the network that aims to counteract the historical forms of disharmony and exclusion. The participants of the festival are to shape their perspective on life in Ghana and in the world. For this purpose, the different visions of reality are connected and a supportive community is created.

Clara Böckers (*1994 in Steinfurt) accidentally discovered her love for analogue photography. The camera left behind at a flea market stall became her constant companion. She was soon fascinated by capturing her surroundings and experiences on film. Whether travelling or in everyday life, Clara loves to capture moments. In analogue photography she focuses on moments and perspectives.

Clara lives in Berlin and will soon complete her apprenticeship as an event manager. She is involved in the production of music festivals.
