Jimi Hendrix and the Love and Peace Festival, Fehmarn 1970 (DE)

In 1970, thousands of music fans flocked to the Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn in the expectation of experiencing their German Woodstock there. However, constant rain and storm prevented some of the famous bands from performing. The presence of the rockers from Hamburg, who had appointed themselves guardians of order, not only frightened the guests at the entrances, but also put pressure on the organisers.

When Jimi Hendrix finally performed on the last day in bright sunshine, the unfortunate side effects were blown away and the trip to the island was remembered by most as an unforgettable musical highlight. It was his last concert before he died a week later in London.
