SUMMER SNOW FROM YESTERDAY – Regina Susanne Borchert

Virtual Exhibition

The starting point of my works is a quote by Erich Kästner: “Most people shed their childhood like an old hat. They forget it, like a telephone number that no longer applies. They used to be children, then they became adults, but what are they now? Only those who grow up and remain a child are human beings”.

In my works I let “old hats” appear in timeless settings and invite the viewer to discover, re-reflect and cultivate their “own hats”. I gather the “raw material” at flea markets and at household liquidations. There I discover sorted out memories, old discarded stories in the form of negative films. On the light-table I create thematic collages (“light-table-photocollages”), which are photographed and digitally processed by me. The resulting pictures invite the viewer to remember their own stories in a new way.
